Top 10 Family Photo Locations in Boca Raton, FL

Boca Raton is a photographer’s dream. We have the beaches, the parks, the architecture, and of course — that legendary South Florida golden hour light that makes every photo look like a painting. As a family photographer in Boca Raton, I’ve shot at dozens of locations throughout Palm Beach County. Here are my top 10 favorites.

1. Red Reef Park — Boca Raton

Red Reef Park is one of the most beautiful spots for family photos in Boca Raton. The combination of lush greenery, clear water, and golden hour light creates a magical backdrop. The rocky reef areas add interesting texture without overpowering your family.

Best time: 1 hour before sunset Parking: Available on-site

2. Spanish River Park — Boca Raton

Spanish River Park offers a unique combination of beach, intracoastal, and native Florida landscape. The ancient banyan trees make a particularly stunning backdrop for family portraits — you won’t find anything like this in a studio.

Best time: Early morning or golden hour Tip: The tunnel under A1A connects beach and intracoastal for variety in one session

3. Mizner Park — Boca Raton

For a more urban, lifestyle feel, Mizner Park is unmatched in Boca Raton. Evening sessions here are particularly stunning when the lights come on. Great for families who want something different from the beach.

Best time: Evening, 1 hour before sunset Parking: Free in the amphitheater lot after 5 PM

4. Patch Reef Park — Boca Raton

A hidden gem. Patch Reef Park offers wide open spaces, beautiful mature trees, and a relaxed vibe that’s perfect for candid family photography. It’s also far less crowded than the beach.

5. Delray Beach

Delray Beach is just a short drive south of Boca Raton and offers some of the most diverse photo locations in South Florida — the Atlantic Avenue corridor, the beach at sunrise, and the intracoastal boardwalk.

6. Boca Raton Resort & Beach Club

For families looking for an elevated, luxury setting, the Boca Resort’s beachfront is stunning. Note: access may require hotel guest status.

7. Wakodahatchee Wetlands — Delray Beach

This one is unique. If your family loves nature and wildlife, Wakodahatchee is a one-of-a-kind boardwalk experience with herons, turtles, and native Florida landscape. Perfect for adventurous families.

8. The Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens — Delray Beach

Stunning Japanese gardens just minutes from Boca Raton. Ideal for maternity sessions, couples, and artistic family portraits.

9. Palm Beach

Worth Avenue, the ocean, the intracoastal — Palm Beach is pure elegance. Great for families and couples who want a high-end, editorial feel for their South Florida portraits.

10. Your Backyard or Home

Don’t underestimate the power of an in-home family session. Some of my favorite images come from the kitchen, the living room floor, or the backyard. It’s where your kids are most comfortable — and it shows.
